Los gourmands, con sus notas y acordes comestibles y reminiscentes de golosinas dulces, se sienten extrañamente reconfortantes. Quizás porque el sentido del gusto es casi tan poderosamente evocativo como el del olfato.
Aunque, obviamente, no nos gusta oler como postre, apreciamos aquellos gourmands que son más metafóricos que literales y en los que las notas alimentarias se encuentran equilibradas con maderas, resinas o flores.

Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau El genio de Lutens brilla en esta singular creación, evocadora de pan tostado caliente, untado con manteca y dulce de damascos. Está inteligentemente balanceado con notas de ámbar, incienso y sándalo.
L’Artisan Parfumeur Traversee du Bosphore Esta fragancia aterciopelada envuelve un corazón de iris, cuero, tabaco y acorde de loukoum en un velo de azafrán y manzana roja.
Thierry Mugler Angel La madre de todos los gourmands y, a pesar de innumerables imitaciones, la reina indiscutida. Este clásico moderno resulta embrujador debido a su peculiar combinación de etil-maltol (que huele a azúcar caramelizada), chocolate y patchouli. Se impone una aplicación mesurada.
Hermès Hermessence Ambre Narguile Muy dulce -y tan reconfortante como dulce- esta mezcla ahumada de frutas, tabaco, canela, miel y ámbar conserva la transparencia característica de las creaciones de Jean Claude Ellena. Tiene sillage y tenacidad increíbles.
Lostmarc’h Lann Aël La marca bretona nos ofrece este delicioso gourmand inspirado en los sabores de la infancia: trigo sarraceno, manzana y leche avainillada. Suave, sereno y reconfortante.
Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum Sí, el de la botella en forma de manzana! Este pecaminoso gourmand oriental tiene una salida anisada (regaliz combinado con hiedra y violeta) y poco a poco se torna más cálido y dulce con tonka, praliné, vainilla y el beso frutado de la amarena.
Tauer Perfumes Une Rose Vermeille Hiperfemenina y con un aura retro, esta dulce mezcla tiene reminiscencias de merengue de rosas relleno con frambuesas y espolvoreado con azúcar impalpable.
Annick Goutal Eau de Charlotte Un romántico floral frutado con dulces notas demimosa, grosella negra, cacao y vainilla. En la versión eau de toilette el aspecto gourmand está más destacado que en el eau de parfum.
Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue Logra combinar exitosamente notas de almendras tostadas y crème brulée con peonía rosada y ciprés azul. Lo consideramos uno de los perfumes más interesantes de la línea. Como plus, la botella es adorablemente femenina.
Isabel Derroisné Vertige Presenta un encantador fondo oscuro de grosella negra que, combinado con la presencia intermitente de la manzana, evoca por momentos un delicioso pastel tibio.

Sweet top 10 – Our favorite gourmands
Gourmand fragrances, with their edible, dessert-like notes and accords, feel strangely comforting. Perhaps because the sense of taste is as powerfully evocative as smell.
Even though we obviously don’t enjoy smelling like dessert, we appreciate those gourmands that are more metaphoric than literal and balance foody notes with woods, resins or flowers.
Today, our 10 favorites:
Serge Lutens Jeux de Peau Lutens’ genius shines in this uncompromising creation evocative of hot toasted bread with butter and apricot jam. It is cleverly balanced by notes of amber, smoky incense and sandalwood.
L’Artisan Parfumeur Traversee du Bosphore This velvety fragrance wraps a heart of iris, leather, Turkish Delight accord and tobacco with a veil of saffron and red apple.
Thierry Mugler Angel The mother of all gourmands and, despite countless imitations, the undisputed queen. This modern classic is bewitching due to its unique combination of ethyl-maltol (which smells like caramelized sugar), chocolate and patchouli. Light application is a must.
Hermès Hermessence Ambre Narguile Very sweet -and as comforting as it is sweet- this smoky blend of tobacco, fruits, cinnamon, honey and amber retains the transparency characteristic of Jean Claude Ellena’s creations. It has incredible staying power and sillage.
Lostmarc’h Lann Aël The Breton brand offers this delicious gourmand inspired by the flavors of infancy: buckwheat, apple and vanilla milk. Soft, serene and comforting.
Lolita Lempicka Le Premier Parfum Yes, the one in the apple-shaped bottle! This sinful oriental gourmand starts with an anisic opening (liquorice combined with ivy and violet) and slowly becomes warmer and sweeter with tonka, praline, vanilla and the fruity kiss of amarena.
Tauer Perfumes Une Rose Vermeille Über feminine and gourmand in a retro way, this sweet, sweet blend is reminiscent of rose flavored meringue filled with raspberries and sprinkled with icing sugar.
Annick Goutal Eau de Charlotte A romantic fruity floral with sweet notes ofmimosa, blackurrant, cocoa and vanilla. In the eau de toilette version the gourmand aspect is more pronounced than in the eau de parfum.
Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue Manages to successfully pair notes of roasted almonds and crème brulée with pink peony and blue cypress. We regard it as one of the most interesting fragrances in the line. As a plus, the bottle is feminine and cute.
Isabel Derroisné Vertige Presents a charmingly dark background of blackcurrant which, paired with the intermitent presence of apple, is evocative of warm fruit pie.
