En el día de ayer, sábado 15 de marzo, perfumistas artesanales independientes de la costa oeste de los Estados Unidos presentaron sus creaciones en la 3era Edición Anual del SF Artisan Fragrance Salon, realizado en el Festival Pavilion del Fort Mason Center (San Francisco, California) al igual que el año pasado.

¿Cuáles fueron las tendencias? Las fragancias hechas con ingredientes 100% naturales -aún más, 100% orgánicos- están en aumento. También observé que hay más diversificación de los formatos: la opción de perfumes sólidos o en aceite es cada vez más común.

Me llevé una grata sorpresa conociendo nuevas narices. La mitad (o más) de los perfumistas presentes exponían allí por primera vez (Hexarom, La Fleur by Livvy) o incluso estaban presentando en sociedad su marca ese mismo día (Mario Tomas, Gnosis Perfumes).

Como estuve casi 4 horas atrapada en el embotellamiento ocasionado por los festejos de San Patricio, no conté con el tiempo suficiente para recorrer todas las mesas, como tenía planeado. Sin embargo, mi Odisea valió la pena y éstas son algunas de las instantáneas que pude lograr.

SF Artisan Fragrance Salon – Some new noses in the West Coast

Yesterday, on Saturday March 15th, many indie artisan perfumers from the U.S. West Coast presented their creations at the 3rd Annual SF Artisan Fragrance Salon, in the Festival Pavilion of Fort Mason Center (San Francisco, California), the same place where it was held last year.

Which where the trends? Well, fragrances made with 100% natural ingredients are on the rise, some even made with raw materials that are 100% organic. I’ve also observed that there is more diversification of formats: the option of solid perfume or oil based fragrances is becoming more and more common.

I was pleasantly surprised to meet new noses. Half (or more) of those perfumers (like Hexarom, La Fleur by Livvy) were exposing there for the very first time or were even debuting their brand that day (Mario Tomas, Gnosis Perfumes). 

As, on my way to the event, I spent almost 4 hours stucked in a traffic jam caused by the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, I didn’t have not enough time to visit all the stands, as I had planned. My Odyssey was still worthwhile. These are some of the snapshots I could obtain.
