La perfumería natural me viene dando muy gratas sorpresas. En el L.A. Artisan Fragrance Salon conocí varias casas de perfumes naturales estadounidenses en las cuales la calidad y la creatividad son pilares fundamentales. Una de ellas es Artemisia Natural Perfume, creada por Lisa Fong.
Justamente, en aquella oportunidad la perfumista presentaba su última composición: Saveur de l’Abricot. Como todas las fragancias de la marca, se trata de un eau de parfum. Consigue, mediante las notas olfativas, recrear el sabor de un damasco (ese es el significado de su nombre francés) que se desliza suavemente por nuestra lengua y paladar.
Sin caer en lo literal, este perfume hace un recorrido seductor y sinuoso hasta llegar a sorprendernos con un cuadro completo de por qué se llama como se llama. Mi sensación es que la fragancia empieza en el carozo: abre ligeramente licorosa y se va tornando amarga y dulce como un jarabe ambarado de benjuí y anís.
Esa oscura intensidad medicinal se abre para dirigir nuestra atención olfativa a una aterciopelada nota floral. Parece como si los apretados pétalos de un iris en capullo se fueran desenvolviendo en cámara rápida. En pocos minutos el sillage se redondea, pulposo y tierno, en matices dorados gracias a la esencia natural de damasco. La nota de osmanto templa los impulsos frutales pero exacerba los sensuales.
Con Saveur de l’Abricot hay que cerrar los ojos y dejarse llevar por un laberinto. Al salir, miraremos hacia atrás y nos encontraremos con la completa figura impresionista de un damasco acariciado por la luz del sol. Nuestra boca sentirá que le hemos dado un mordisco.

Artemisia Saveur de l’Abricot – Imaginary bite
Natural perfumery has been giving me very pleasant surprises. At the L.A. Artisan Salon Fragrance I met several American natural perfume houses where quality and creativity are cornerstones. One of them is Artemisia Natural Perfume created by Lisa Fong.
At that time the perfumer was introducing her latest composition: Saveur de l’Abricot. Like all the fragrances of the brand, it’s an eau de parfum. It get through the olfactory notes to recreate the flavor of an apricot (that is the meaning of its French name) which slides smoothly through our tongue and palate.
Without falling into literality, this perfume makes a seductive and sinuous path up and surprises us with a complete picture of the reason why it deserves its name. My sensation is the fragrance starts in the pit: it opens slightly licorice and it becomes bitter and sweet like an ambered anise and benzoin syrup.
That dark medicinal intensity opens by itself to lead our olfactory attention to a velvety floral note. It looks as if the tight petals of an iris blossom were unfolding in fast-forward mode. Within minutes the sillage is rounded, fleshy and tender, in golden hues thanks to the natural apricot essence. The osmanthus note tempered fruity impulses but exacerbates sensual ones.
With Saveur de l’Abricot you must close your eyes and enter a labyrinth. Upon leaving, you’ll look back and you will find the entire impressionist figure of an apricot caressed by sunlight. Your mouth will feel that you have taken a bite of it.
