Francis Kurkdjian –sin dudas uno de los más exitosos perfumistas contemporáneos- fue el creador de Miss Charming y Lady Vengeance, las dos primeras fragancias de Juliette Has a Gun.
En apariencia, la amigable y despreocupada Miss Charming y su hermana en busca de venganza no podrían ser más diferentes entre sí. Sólo en apariencia.
Lady Vengeance es quizás el perfume que mejor da cuerpo al espíritu de la línea de Romano Ricci. A pesar de lo sombrío de su nombre y botella, no hay oscuridad o agresividad alguna de su parte. Lady Vengeance es más un gatito que ronronea que un león rugiente. No blande el látigo con aroma a rosas de Montale Black Aoud ni se escuda tras la salida amarga y medicinal de Juliette Has a Gun Midnight Oud. Esta rosa está perfectamente domesticada y amaestrada.
Las notas de rosa búlgara, patchouli y vainilla en Lady Vengeance son niñas aplicadas. Esta buena conducta nos deja una composición moderna y relativamente simple. En el inteligente equilibrio entre esas tres notas es donde brilla el genio de Kurkdjian: la vainilla impide que el patchouli se torne demasiado sucio; la rosa suma sofisticación a una mezcla que de otra manera podría ser un poco vulgar y la combinación vainilla-rosa nunca entra en territorio de la confitería, gracias a la adición del patchouli.
Lady Vengeance está en la misma longitud de onda que Dior Midnight Poison, pero un poco menos dulce y sin la sensación de azúcar quemado.
La evolución es bastante lineal y la longevidad, muy buena.

Juliette Has a Gun Lady Vengeance – Purring kitten
Francis Kurkdjian -without a doubt one of the most successful contemporary noses- was the creator behind Miss Charming and Lady Vengeance, the two first fragrances of the Juliette Has a Gun line.
Appparently, the friendly and happy-go-lucky Miss Charming and its revenge-seeking sister couldn’t be more different. But only in appearance.
Lady Vengeance is perhaps the fragrance that best embodies the spirit of Romano Ricci‘s line. Despite its somber name and bottle there is no darkness or aggressiveness in it. Lady Vengeance is more of a purring cat than a roaring lion. She doesn’t brandish Montale’s Black Aoud rose-scented whip or hides herself behind the bitter opening of Juliette Has a Gun Midnight Oud. This rose is perfectly tame and house-trained.
Lady Vengeance‘s notes of Bulgarian rose, patchouli and vanilla are nice girls. Their good behaviour leaves us with a composition that is modern and relatively simple. It is in the clever equilibrium between those three notes where Kurkdjian‘s genius shines through: Vanilla prevents patchouli from becoming too dirty; rose lends sophistication to a blend that might otherwise become a bit vulgar and the vanilla-rose combo never becomes confectionery-like thanks to the addition of patchouli.
Lady Vengeance is in the same wavelength as Dior’s Midnight Poison but not as sweet and it lacks the burnt sugar feel.
Its evolution is quite linear and the longevity, very good.
