La menta ha sido utilizada durante siglos para tratar diferentes dolencias. Dioscorides la recomendaba como promotora de la lujuria; Santa Hildegarda de Bingen la empleaba en el tratamiento de la gota y para facilitar la digestión y el Herbario de Banckes la elogia como vermífugo.  La aromaterapia moderna considera el aceite esencial como analgésico (especialmente efectivo contra los dolores de cabeza), febrífugo y digestivo pero también encuentra uso comercial para dar sabor a dentífricos, caramelos y bebidas. 

Si alguna vez han cultivado menta, recordarán el aroma de la planta como un todo. Las hojas, flores y tallo liberan su precioso aceite perfumado, especialmente cuando son estrujados entre los dedos y entibiados por el calor de la piel.

Heeley Menthe Fraîche no es una reconstrucción abstracta de esta noble hierba, sino un retrato vívido y realista. Las hojas de menta (ambas menta piperita y la más suave y dulzona hierbabuena), mezcladas con cantidades homeopáticas de bergamota, té verde, fresia y cedro blanco dan por resultado una fragancia limpia, delicada y vivificante de propiedades casi terapéuticas.

Desde un punto de vista superficial, podría parecer lineal y engañosamente simple, pero resulta depurado, moderno y exquisitamente equilibrado, como todas las creaciones de Heeley.  Es fácil de llevar, no invasivo y perfectamente unisex. Su longevidad no es sobresaliente, pero reaplicarlo durante el día es pura dicha.

Heeley Menthe Fraîche – Green therapy

Mint has been used for centuries to treat different ailments. Dioscorides recommended it as a promoter of lust; Saint Hildegard of Bingen used it to treat gout and to aid digestion and Banckes’ Herbal praised it as vermifuge.  Modern aromatherapy regards the essential oil as analgesic (especially effective for the treatment of headaches), febrifuge and digestive but it also finds commercial use as a flavouring for toothpaste, candy and beverages.

If you have ever grown mint, you will remember the smell of the whole plant. Leaves, flowers and stem release its precious fragrant oil, especially when they are crushed between the fingers and heated by the warmth of the skin.

Heeley Menthe Fraîche is not an abstract recreation of this noble herb but a vivid realistic portrait. Mint leaves (both peppermint and the milder, sweeter spearmint), mixed with homeopathic quantities of bergamot, green tea, freesia and white cedar give as a result a clean, delicate and uplifting scent with almost therapeutic properties.

From a superficial point of view, it might seem linear and deceptively simple but it truly is streamlined, modern and exquisitely balanced, like all Heeley creations.  It is easy to wear, non invasive and perfectly unisex.  Longevity is not outstanding but reapplying during the day is pure bliss.
