Tauer Perfumes Une Rose Vermeille – Pétalos azucarados

Este pequeño tesoro de Tauer Perfumes, marca artesanal con base en Zurich, es uno de mis favoritos de la línea.

Une Rose Vermeille es el homenaje de Andy Tauer a la rosa, un tributo gourmand no tan distinto al de los Duraznos Melba, creados por el chef Auguste Escoffier para honrar a la soprano Nellie Melba.

Une Rose Vermeille al igual que un postre fino, debe ser saboreado: puede paladearse la vigorizante acidez del limón, la cualidad jugosa de la frambuesa y el tranquilizante dulzor de la vanilla, todo cubierto por un velo de azúcar impalpable.

Los frescos cítricos y lavanda impiden que la salida se torne demasiado dulce. La dulzura, sin embargo, se desarrolla e intensifica con el paso del tiempo. Una rosa aterciopelada, con reminiscencias de confitura, y una acidulada  frambuesa roja descansan sobre un colchón de vanilla y tonka irresistiblemente mullido. Sándalo y ambargris realzan la sensualidad de la mezcla y evitan que esta coqueta criatura se muestre infantil.

Une Rose Vermeille se torna más dulce con el correr de las horas pero sin perder su cualidad lúdica y su delicadeza. Me hace pensar en una versión gourmand y jugosa de Broadway Nite o Lipstick Rose; menos conceptual que ellas y con una apariencia más natural.  

Como plus, tiene una longevidad fabulosa: duró sobre la piel un día entero.

Tauer Perfumes Une Rose Vermeille – Candied petals

This little gem from Zurich-based artisanal brand Tauer Perfumes  is one of our favorites from the line.

Une Rose Vermeille is Andy Tauer‘s homage to rose, a gourmand tribute not unlike that of Peach Melba, created by chef Auguste Escoffier to honour soprano Nellie Melba. 

Une Rose Vermeille much like a fine dessert, is meant to be savored: it is possible to palate the bright zestiness of lemon, the juiciness of the raspberry and the soothing  sweetness of vanilla, all as if covered with a veil of icing sugar.

Fresh citrus and lavender prevent the opening from becoming too sweet. The sweetness, though, develops and intensifies over time. Velvety rose -reminiscent of confiture– and red, tart raspberry rest on an irresistible  plush bed of vanilla and tonka. Sandalwood and ambergris heighten the sensuality of the blend and keep this flirty and coquettish creature from being seen as childish.

 Une Rose Vermeille gets sweeter over the course of hours but always retains its delicacy and playfulness. I think of it as a gourmand, juicy version of Broadway Nite or Lipstick Rose; more natural-smelling and less conceptual than them.  

As a plus, it has fabulous longevity: it lasted on my skin for a whole day.
