Las rosas suelen llegar acompañadas por el temido estigma de “perfume de abuela”. Aunque estamos felices de portar muchos de los perfumes que usaron nuestras abuelas y bisabuelas y conocemos muchas mujeres maduras que huelen maravillosamente, hoy nos gustaría compartir 10 rosas que no nos recuerdan en absoluto a la Granny del canario Tweety.
Lalique Perles: Una rosa amaderada, con toques de pimienta y fondo de patchouli, esta creación de Nathalie Lorson es seca aunque transparente y alegre. La disfrutamos particularmente en días cálidos.
Hermes Kelly Caleche: Probablemente la más interesante y bella de las últimas creaciones de Jean-Claude Ellena, Kelly Caleche une rosas, iris y cuero suave. Su aroma nos recuerda a un bolso de fina piel donde se han guardado cosméticos de lujo.
Bond No.9 West Side: Este cálido y licoroso elixir mezcla rosas, vainilla, ámbar y almizcle. Percibimos también una distintiva nota de tabaco. Reconfortante, versátil y no demasiado formal es uno de los perfumes que portamos más a menudo.
Editions de Parfums Lipstick Rose: Una creación de Ralf Schwieger que, glamorosa y lúdica a la vez, evoca el olor del lápiz labial con sus notas de violeta, rosa y frambuesa. Para ser llevado con confianza y sentido del humor. Rociar con ligereza.
Chanel Les Exclusifs No.18: Quizás la fragancia más moderna y minimalista de la línea Les Exclusifs, No. 18 abre con una penetrante (y desconcertante) nota de ambrette, pero pronto muta en una adorable rosa frutal y almizclada. Es bastante sutil, por lo tanto recomendamos una aplicación generosa.
Eau d’Italie Paestum Rose: Inspirada por las rosas que florecían en los templos de Paestum, en el sur de Italia, nos brinda un enorme estallido de pimienta y mirra, seguido de incienso y rosas oscuras. Sería algo así como la hermana mayor de Lalique Perles.
Juliette Has a Gun Miss Charming: Una rosa frutal y ligeramente azucarada, esta coqueta fragancia pretende parecer inocente, pero su fondo almizclado demuestra que no lo es tanto. Nos encanta para aquellos días en que queremos oler preciosamente aniñadas.
Czech and Speake Dark Rose: Oud, rosa y patchouli. A no buscar mucho más lejos si se desea una rosa seductora y muy, muy oscura. Una fragancia madura, compuesta al estilo de Oriente Medio, Dark Rose -pariente cercana de Midnight Oud (Juliette Has a Gun) y Black Aoud (Montale)- hace honor a su nombre.
Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum: Almendras, rosa, miel y vainilla juegan juntas en este gourmand suave y adictivo que se inspira en el delicioso loukhoum turco. Es empolvado y dulce, pero no empalagoso. No somos las mayores adeptas a los gourmands, pero este nos ha convencido.
YSL Baby Doll: Uno de los primeros (y aún hoy uno de los mejores) florales frutados existentes, aquí la rosa se mezcla con pomelo y grosellas. Dulzón pero ácido, es lúdico y joven sin volverse vulgar.

10 roses that do NOT remind us of our Grandma
Roses tend to come with the dreaded “grandmother’s perfume” stigma. Even though we are happy to wear many of the fragrances our grandmothers and great grandmothers wore and we know many mature ladies who smell heavenly, today we would like to share 10 roses that don’t evoke Tweety Bird’s Granny in the least.
Lalique Perles: A woody and peppery rose with patchouli base notes, this Nathalie Lorson creation is dry, yet transparent and cheerful. We particularly enjoy wearing it in warm weather.
Hermes Kelly Caleche: Probably the most interesting and beautiful of Jean-Claude Ellena‘s latest creations, Kelly Caleche blends roses, iris and soft leather. Its smell reminds us of a fine purse that has been used to carry luxury cosmetics.
Bond No.9 West Side: This warm and boozy elixir blends roses, vanilla, amber and musk. We also get a distinctive tobacco note. Cozy, versatile and not too formal. One of the fragrances we wear most often.
Editions de Parfums Lipstick Rose: A Ralf Schwieger creation which, glamorous and playful at a time, evokes the smell of rose-scented lipstick with its violet, rose and raspberry notes. Wear it with confidence and a sense of humour. Spritz lightly.
Chanel Les Exclusifs No.18: Maybe the most modern and minimalistic fragrance in the Les Exclusifs line, No. 18 opens with a disconcertingly sharp ambrette note but soon morphs into a lovely fruity and musky rose. It is quite subtle, so generous application is recommended.
Eau d’Italie Paestum Rose: Inspired by the roses that would bloom at the temples in Paestum, Southern Italy, this gives us a huge blast of pepper and myrrh, followed by incense and dark roses. Think of it as Lalique Perles’ older sister.
Juliette Has a Gun Miss Charming: A fruity, slightly sugary rose, this flirty fragrance appears to be naive, but its musky drydown makes it less so. We love this on days when we just want to smell preciously girly.
Czech and Speake Dark Rose: Oud, rose and patchouli. If you are looking for a dark, very dark, seductive rose, look no further than this. A mature fragrance composed in Mid-Eastern style, this one is in the same vein as Midnight Oud and Black Aoud. It truly honors its name.
Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum: Almonds, rose and honey play together in this soft and addictive gourmand, inspired by delicious Turkish loukhoum. It is powdery and sweet but never cloying. We are not the biggest fans of gourmands but this one has won us over.
YSL Baby Doll: One of the first (and still one of the best) fruity florals out there. Here rose mingles with grapefruit and redcurrant. Sweet and tart, this is playful and young without ever becoming vulgar.
