El ejercicio intenso requiere concentración, tenacidad y motivación; fragancias frescas, cítricas, verdes y tonificantes son mis elegidas para esas ocasiones. Prefiero los perfumes brillantes pero con poca o nula proyección para no invadir narices ajenas, especialmente si estaré en un lugar cerrado.

Otro aspecto que me parece fundamental es que tengan una composición simple o, como mucho, una complejidad intermedia. Demasiadas notas danzando a mi alrededor me hacen perder el enfoque. En definitiva, lo que busco es un complemento, un accesorio que se amalgame agradablemente con el calor de la piel y, que en lo posible, dure más de dos horas.

Heeley Menthe Fraîche, una de nuestras “mentas” favoritas. Una nube fría de aire verde y alcanforado emerge del cuerpo gracias a la bergamota, hojas de menta y té verde.

Clarins Eau des Jardins es una fragancia y un tratamiento para la piel basado en técnicas fitoterapéuticas. Huele a verano, un blend acuoso de flores delicadas y damascos. Extractos vegetales y brotes de grosella negra se mezclan con notas cítricas de salida y una base almizclada.

Caudalie Fleur de Vigne evoca una caminata por los viñedos en un día soleado. Es dulce -debido a la rosa blanca y a las notas de sandía– pero energizante: tiene destellos de pomelo, mandarina y cedro.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic es chispeante como una jugosa mandarina fresca recién pelada, aunque el verdadero protagonista es el corazón de albahaca. Es herbáceo pero suavemente floral: flor de naranjo, peonía blanca, hiedra y ámbar.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino ies simplicidad sobre la piel. Esta composición de Rodrigo Flores-Roux comienza fresca y cítrica (bergamota con mandarina) y evoluciona tibia y floral (flor de naranjo africano y ámbar).

Honoré des Prés Honoré’s Trip encarna el aspecto más ácido del zumo de limón: encaja perfecto con una jornada de ejercicios al aire libre en verano. Es una fusión natural de limón amalfitano, bergamota, naranja italiana y resinas.

Rochas Les Cascades de Rochas Eclat d’Agrumes es principalmente floral y un poquito jabonoso. Su apertura está conformada por bergamota y mandarina pero en las notas medias tiene flores blancas y tiernas notas frutales (ananá y mango) continuando con el espíritu de sus predecesoras  Eau Sensuelle  y Eau de Rochas Fraiche.

Creed Acqua Fiorentina reúne la dulzura de la ciruela, la acidez de la manzana, la aspereza de la pera y el cedro y el resplandor del limón y el pomelo. Suena complejo pero es un mix ejecutado con precisión y sutileza. ¡Es mi favorito para andar en bicicleta!

Imaginary Authors Falling Into the Sea es una de las fragancias cítricas más originales que he olido. Es un limón salado, seco y cálido. Josh Meyer combinó cítricos, (un no abrumador) “litchi, flores tropicales y arena(!).” Quizás esa sea la razón secreta por la que lo elijo para salir a trotar por la orilla de la bahía de San Francisco.

Eau d’Italie Acqua Decima  es la melliza de Heeley Menthe Fraîche. Es fresca y mentolada pero menos jabonosa que su “hermano”. Esta optimista creación de Alberto Morillas es más dulce y floral. El encanto del cashmeran, mandarina y neroli juntos es vívido y soleado.

Fresh and invigorating – A top 10 to help you get in motion

Exercising requires concentration, tenacity and motivation; fresh, citrusy, green, tonic fragrances are my choice on those occasions. I prefer bright perfumes but with little or next to none projection to avoid to invading other noses, especially if I am indoors.

There is another important point about it: the composition must be simple or, at least, of intermediate complexity. Too many olfactive notes dancing around me make me lose focus. In short, I need a complement, an accessory that merges nicely with the warmth of the skin and, if possible, that lasts for more than two hours.

Heeley Menthe Fraîche, one of our favorite “mints”. A cool cloud of camphorated green air emerges from the body of the wearer thanks to the mix of  bergamot, mint leaves and green tea.

Clarins Eau des Jardins is an all-in-one fragrance and skin care product with phytoterapeutic properties. It smells like Summer, a watery blend of delicate flowers and apricots. Plant extracts and blackcurrant buds are mixed with citrusy top notes and a musky base.

Caudalie Fleur de Vigne evokes a walk in the vineyards on a sunny day. It’s sweet -because of the white rose and watermelon notes– but energizing: accents of grapefruit, mandarin and cedar.

Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic is as sparkling as a freshly peeled juicy mandarin orange but the true focal point is the basil heart. It’s herbal but lightly floral: orange blossom, white peony, ivy and amber.

Tom Ford Neroli Portofino is pure simplicity on the skin. This creation by Rodrigo Flores-Roux starts fresh and citrusy (bergamot and mandarin orange) but the drydown is warm and floral (African orange flower and amber).

Honoré des Prés Honoré’s Trip embodies the most acidic aspect of lemon juice: it would be a perfect fit for an outdoor workout in Summer. it fits perfect with an outdoor workout in summer. It’s a natural blend of Amalfi lemon, bergamot, Italian orange and resins.

Rochas Les Cascades de Rochas Eclat d’Agrumes is mainly floral and a little soapy. Its opening consists on a bergamot and mandarin orange pairing. In the middle stages there are white flowers and tender fruity notes (pineapple and mango) continuing the spirit of its predecessors  Eau Sensuelle and Eau de Rochas Fraiche. 

Creed Acqua Fiorentina brings together the sweetness of plum, the sourness of apple, the roughness of pear and cedar and the radiance of lemon and grapefruit. It sounds complex but it is a subtle and nicely made mix. It’s my favorite for cycling!

Imaginary Authors Falling Into the Sea is one of the most original citrusy fragrance I’ve smelled. Is a salty lemon, dry and warm. Josh Meyer mixed citrus, (not overwhelming) “lychee, tropical flowers and sand(!).” Maybe that is the secret reason why I wear it for running along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay.

Eau d’Italie Acqua Decima is the “twin sister” of Heeley Menthe Fraîche. It is fresh and minty but less soapy than her “brother”. This optimistic creation of Alberto Morillas is sweeter and more floral. The charm of cashmeran, mandarine and neroli is vivid and sunny.
